Multiply and Replenish

Despite being transplanted from a friend's house, the chives are starting to perk up and have decided to go to seed!
Last year, we quickly put in a garden in hopes of enjoying a bit of fresh produce though we were devoting a lot of time to fencing, home improvements and repairs.  We were blessed beyond any hopes and had fruit and vegetables for months.

Getting ready for this season, we sprouted some of our own seeds in homemade newspaper pots and learned lots at a church activity about when to plant, where to plant, how to amend soil, different methods for gardening, etc.
The peas have popped up and are ready to be weeded and mulched.
At the end of the activity, the woman giving the closing prayer petitioned for aid as we multiplied and replenished the earth.  I had never thought of tending a garden as multiplying and replenishing, but come harvest time, it certainly is.
We have plenty of tomato seedlings in the ground.
What did you plant in your garden?  So far, we've got tomatoes, red potatoes, russet potatoes, peas, red onions, sweet onions, peanuts, acorn squash, spaghetti squash, butternut squash, pumpkins, garlic, parsley, dill, basil, chives, lettuce, spinach, cucumbers, zucchini, sweet potatoes, watermelon, cantaloup, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, raspberries, strawberries and blackberries.  Now, where to put the corn...
We may be opening our own pumpkin patch this year...there are at least two dozen pumpkin plants sprouted!
Hope your gardens are doing well, whatever form they come in and that soon, you'll be able to enjoy the bounty of the earth!
