This Is Halloween

October seemed to fly by and culminated with a fantastic Halloween. Sure, it was cold, windy and sleeting but thankfully, I have enough midwest Halloweens under my belt that I know that chances are, costumes are paired with coats.
The finished product!
Now that our girls are getting old enough to really enjoy Halloween, we've begun some traditions of our own. Of course, we always carve pumpkins, this year enjoying warm enough weather to carve them out on the deck (although we miss going to the pumpkin patch)...
Princess Twilight Sparkle.
...we went to a haunted house, made Halloween sugar cookies, made elaborate My Little Ponies costumes
Readily going into the scary clown's mouth! I'm not sure Jack'd be that brave.
...watched some Halloween classics (think Addam's family and Nightmare Before Christmas), made festive felt shirts....
Princess Cadence.
...decorated the house, went to our church's Trunk or Treat, trick or treated at the library...
...and come Halloween, volunteered to run pumpkin bowling for Evie's kindergarten class and braved the blustery weather to go out with friends. We came home with a fair share of loot.
The girls are talented cookie decorators!
After seeing so many friends and the girls enjoying the generosity of others, we came home, warmed up, and went right to bed.
Admiring themselves.
This is Halloween. And we love it.
A dog, a hungry pumpkin (that's what Kate wanted), a scary face, bats and a vampire.
